Our core services
Threat and risk assessment
A physical assessment and an examination of the site plans are carried out by BSC ltd. The result is a report with a number components and matrixes that outline all identified risks, potential threats, and a recommended mitigation. The customer can then make a choice of accepting the risk or mitigating it through the recommended solution. The solutions can include building design adjustment, mechanical/electronic systems or procedural changes.
Strategic planning
BSC ltd can assist in a creating redundancy planning, manpower and systems integration, control centre use, automated situation response, high-value asset movement, and other types of planning. Often the effectiveness of security systems and manpower is highly dependent on intelligent and effective planning.
All aspects of the tender process
Our services have saved our clients large amounts by preventing unnecessary “overkill” installations. BSC ltd can assist customers in ensuring that the tender document is precise and effective without excessiveness or brand biases (unless required). Thus ensuring the submitted bids addresses the customer’s requirement effectively and in a cost-effective manner. BSC ltd can also assist in evaluating submitted bids and ensuring that integrators are able to meet the requirements without cutting corners. During the commissioning stage BSC ltd can assist in carrying out site assessments ensuring that system installed has been installed in accordance to the industry benchmarks and meeting the tender specification.
Design and engineering of CCTV systems
BSC ltd can assist our clients in selecting the best CCTV solution that is fit for purpose. We can assist in locating cameras and selecting the type cameras to be used based on the location, purpose, target area, level of details required, light level, light position and other environmental factors. We then recommend the type of camera technology, resolution, light sensor size, light sensor resolution and lens requirement. In addition, BSC ltd can make extensive designs of the CCTV recording component, redundancies, IT networks and other hardware/software components. We can also design a high level of CCTV analytics that can assist in the early detection and prevention of adverse events.
Design and engineering of access control system
BSC ltd can assist our client in designing access control systems that are fit for purpose. We can recommend what doors need to be locked, the type of lock used, level of force, lock position and other hardware required at the door. In addition, BSC ltd can recommend all the other required components such as the type of RFID technology, sensors, readers, communication between devices, control systems, and other components. BSC ltd design can cover control of pedestrian and vehicle movement around the site. In high-security site, a multi-layer designed strategy can be adapted to ensure multiple layers of protections from staff and the public. We can also design redundancy for a highly resilient system with hardware and software failovers.
Design and engineering of intruder detection
BSC ltd can assist our client in designing intruder detection systems that are fit for purpose. We can specify where sensors are required, what technology to use for detection, how the signal is transmitted securely to the controller, what the controller needs to do with the signal and how to provide effective site monitoring. We can also specify all other components of the system including all the software and hardware required to achieve the desired level of security, functionality, and level of redundancy.
Systems Integration
Systems integration is often overlooked in security systems and more attention is typically paid to the hardware due to commercial factors. The true effectiveness of a security system depends on hardware and its utilization. And without effective system integration the utilisation of security systems are often untimely and ineffective. BSC ltd have helped countless clients in creating a unified and integrated system that work in real time to detect and respond to threats in a timely manner. This means all the security systems on site (CCTV, access control, intruder, BMS etc) operate as a single effective tool to detect threats and address them accordingly. Addressing threats could be automated by the system or could involve the utilisation of the manpower on site. The systems can also be designed to provide directions to the manpower, track and report events as they unfold, locally and offsite.
Training
BSC ltd can help train security operators, administrators, managers and other staff in using CCTV systems, access control, intruder systems and more. BSE ltd can help in structuring user access rights and groups to achieve a system that is easier to manage and maintain. We can also help you to better understand and utilise your security resulting in a more synergetic integration between the systems and the manpower onsite.
Design and engineering of effective control centres
A control centre is often overlooked, however, the correct design can significantly improve the effectiveness of a control room. This includes the design of seating position, control equipment, lighting, monitor position and other furniture. Achieving a good design can prolong the attention period of operators, draw attention to critical events, improve OHS and shorten the detection and reaction time to events. BSE ltd can draw out a complete layout, furniture and equipment design. The design considers the number of operators, size and location of the room, lighting, control equipment’s required and number of screens.
Technology evaluation
If the existing security implementation onsite is failing to achieve objectives, site managers may require a non-biased, commercially independent evaluations of their security. BSC ltd has helped a countless number of customers evaluate if their security meets industrially accepted installation standards, fit for purpose, durable and able to function at different threat levels. This type of evaluation is typically related to the existing technology aspect of a site and not to be confused with a threat and risk assessment.
CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design)
Crime prevention through environmental design is often carried out at an early stage of the building design. It can also be adapted to existing buildings to a lesser extent. CPTED can utilize small changes in the design to produce significant savings in security equipment. CPTED utilises concepts like natural surveillance and natural access control to improve the overall security of a site while reducing cost.
Design and engineering of Anti-terrorism systems
BSC ltd can assist customers in high-risk countries physically harden their sites against terrorist threats like IEDs and VBIEDs. This is done by evaluating an acceptable threat level and engineering solutions to mitigate it. The solution can include modification to the building design (working with the building architect), specialized facades, electronic detection systems, hostile vehicle mitigation, protective standoffs, scanners and much more. Buildings designed by BSC ltd has gained international approval and recognition from the INTERPOL.
